MRA Executive Vice Chairman Visits BURO Bangladesh’s Social Initiatives in Tangail

Professor Dr. Mohammad Helal Uddin, Executive Vice Chairman of the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA), visited BURO Bangladesh’s branch offices and social initiatives, including BURO Hospital and BURO Nursing Institute, in Tangail on23 June.
During the visit, he was accompanied by MRA Director Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Head of the Licensing, Regulation, Policy and Law Division, and Deputy Director Syed Ashik Imtiaz, PS to the Executive Vice Chairman. From BURO Bangladesh, Founder and Executive Director Zakir Hossen, Director of Special Program Md. Sirajul Islam, Deputy Directors and other senior officials were present.
At the beginning of the visit, the delegation observed the field-level operational activities of five branches in the Tangail region. They reviewed the overall branch operations and were briefed on BURO Bangladesh’s community health care project. Later, a tree was planted on the premises of the Tangail Regional Office as part of BURO Bangladesh’s environmental protection and greening initiatives.
The MRA Executive Vice Chairman then visited BURO Healthcare Foundation. Rahela Zakir, Director of BURO Hospital, along with senior officials of BURO Bangladesh, was present during the visit. Professor Dr. Mohammad Helal Uddin inspected the NICU and other key departments of the foundation and observed its infrastructure, modern medical equipment and overall quality of healthcare services.

Meanwhile, MRA Director Mohammad Abdul Mannan and Deputy Director Syed Ashik Imtiaz visited BURO Nursing Institute. They toured the institute’s modern laboratories and classrooms, spoke with students, and discussed nursing education, training activities and quality improvement with the teachers.

Earlier,on 22 June, Professor Dr. Mohammad Helal Uddin attended the closing ceremony of the “Training Course on Implementation of Microfinance Program” for Assistant Program Organisers at the Tangail Regional Office as the chief guest. At the event, awards were handed over to the best-performing trainees. A booklet titled Behaviour and Personality was also unveiled and distributed among 68trainees.
Addressing the trainees, Professor Dr. Mohammad Helal Uddin said, “In the service sector,your main goal should be to bring smiles to the faces of marginalized people and uphold a service-oriented mindset.” He also advised the trainees to build their careers in the microfinance sector with a strong sense of social and humanitarian responsibility.
